6 months later, Ruthy is STILL on Fire!
It’s been nearly 6 months since I did my first review on Ruthy0nFire and I was struggling to decide whether I should do a new review or if I should update the one I wrote before.
Ruthy mostly streams throughout the morning and for me, she is like a daily morning coffee. If I skip watching her stream it makes me feel tired and sleepy. However, when I watch her morning streams it leaves me feeling refreshed as she makes us laugh and smile, building us up and sending us all on our way to have an awesome rest of the day.
She really is one of the nicest and most genuine streamers I have the pleasure of watching :)
So that’s why on Tuesday 28th January I don’t think anyone could have anticipated what would happen next. As I scrolled through my twitter feed I came across and read a tweet from Ruthy saying she got robbed… She got robbed!!?
Like most of her followers, I stared at the screen in shock as I carefully read the tweet again. I really struggled to understand what was going on. I could only imagine how she must feel considering she moved to Johannesburg just a few months ago. She left family and friends behind to go and follow her dreams. And what does this nasty world do? It sends out some horrible, cowardly people to violate one of Twitter’s rising stars home, a place she felt safe.
Her bank account cleaned out as she left her new bank card with the PIN downstairs, a few clothing items were stolen along with some other items. We are thankful they did not go through the rest of the apartment as they would have stolen even more things.
The place she now has to call home quickly became something that made her feel unsafe and a place she would have to familiarize herself with all over again. Having a stranger go through your things is a feeling no one will quickly forget.

Kind, caring, lovable, humble, cheerful, bubbly, strong, supportive and passionate. These are mere words that you would find in a dictionary. But for Ruth, they are more than just words, it is how she lives her life.
So Ruth.. It is because of that, why the Gaming & Geek community will always love you and admire you and always be there by your side every step of the way.
Watching her stream a week after everything that has happened I kinda feel like an overprotective mother bear looking at her cub, trying to stay positive and send good vibes her way. My heart feels incredibly sad to see a friend in need and it feels like I’m unable to do anything to help her out. However, my sadness was short-lived when the gaming community stepped in to help care for a fallen friend. I felt incredibly proud to know some of the people trying to make a difference, helping raise money to make sure our little cub got back on her feet. I mean a lot of us wanted her to smile and laugh again and for her to go back to feeling safe and being her usual self again.

When I re-read my first article on Ruthy I wanted to make sure that this one would be different in all sorts of ways, however, I can’t really do that because Ruthy hasn’t changed all that much. But I mean that in the best possible way! Despite growing in popularity and gaining more and more viewers and followers on Twitch she is still the same kind-hearted, strong female gamer I first saw on stream.
She has shown us all that this is not going to break her and that her game is not over yet. Yes, she might be emotionally bruised and tired right now but she is back on her feet and I know the gaming community, her friends and family will be with her as she goes forth from here.
So to everyone who has not yet checked out this amazing purple-haired streamer, I suggest you make haste and check her out! She is currently streaming the Witcher series and it’s a blast to watch her play!
