Is CallMeCrim South Africa’s Most Charismatic Streamer?
I’m unsure as to how I came across Crim’s steam but I’m pretty sure it was through our local sweetheart Moomba’s.
I remember entering the stream and the game immediately grabbing my attention. It seems like such an intense game to play! A lot of the gameplay revolving around planning out your attacks instead of the normal ‘dash in and save the day’ kind of games. This is a video game that requires a lot of listening to your surroundings and praying that you are better than the next player scouting for the same loot you are so hungry to retrieve. Or at least that is how it feels to me.
However we are not here to talk too much about the game but more about the streamer who sits on the controlling side of his avatar, CallMeCrim.
Crim is best described as the chaperone of Tarkov where he helps countless new players explore the exciting world of survival. If you need someone to help you or give advice he is often the first person people rely on.
After having a little chat with him I could see why he was so liked by his community, so naturally, I wanted to know why he started streaming. Surprisingly, streaming was not his original method to help people. He was, in fact, one of our local Esport faces who motivated and helped local streamers in making their reality a dream come true. Not only did he plant the seed to get them thinking about taking up the challenge of becoming a streamer, but he also helped them grow by answering questions when they were unsure or helped with setting up their streams.
Unlike a lot of streamers Crim focuses on one game at a time as he tries to exploit all aspects of the game, leaving no stone unturned. He does not like testing many different games while streaming but will never refuse to try a new game with friends off stream. He is soon going to treat his viewers with some Minecraft which I’m really looking forward to since we are all so used to him playing Tarkov. I think it’s exciting and we all are looking forward to seeing our Tarkov coach build and mine his little heart out.
It is not just his charming competitive nature that keeps us coming back and sitting hours watching him play but his helpful and caring ways for others. Whether you want to just sit and talk or if you want to kill a few scavengers and unwind after a long stressful day, his community welcomes you with open arms.
When I asked the question “Do we know anyone who has gotten famous after you suggested they should start streaming” his answer really surprised me and it shows how just how kindhearted he really is.
“I don’t measure success by numbers or by how much money someone is making. At the end of the day, I’m happy if they do but that for me is not the point and I hope they also take something real to heart when the camera is off. I measure their success with how they are interacting with their community and making bonds that will go beyond just a viewer and a streamer relationship. So for me, all the ones that kept on streaming have made it BIG :)” – CallMeCrim
His goal is to help streamers be the best they can be, by having fun, creating and inspiring others to be the best they can be as well as help shape the South African gaming community for a better future.
Apart from his really good nature and charming personality, his hobbies include casually playing video games off stream and enjoying sharing them with his viewers while streaming, naturally. However, he also enjoys long walks, cooking, and baking, open fire Braai’s, casual hunting, and fly fishing.
His big dream is exploring the world, traveling, and experiencing new places, food, and cultures.
Sometimes we can’t help but be skeptical about the streamers we watch and sometimes it cannot be helped that we wonder if all this is an act, however, in the short time I’ve spent getting to know this young gentleman he has proven to care a lot about others and to help better the community through his actions.
So to answer my own question, Is CallMeCrim South Africa’s Most Charismatic Streamer? I’m not sure but he definitely is very gentle and kindhearted which I think draws a lot of people to watch him stream. To find out if he really is the most charismatic streamer I guess we will have to find out as we keep watching!
